I still don't understand how the colors were assigned. I would have thought the Democrats would be red, since they're more likely to be Reds (or at least Pinkos).
Aside from the red-GOP/blue-DEM assignment, I believe the mapping is based on Congressional representation. That being said, a lot of those "blue" districts might well be switching back after two years of "hope and change"...
