UPDATE: I forgot 3 important words – "IN BELKNAP COUNTY". My listing of NH House Reps are those from BELKNAP COUNTY! Mea Culpa…..
Got an email from an alert reader telling me that Joel Winters, D-Hillsborough, did vote NAY in support of the resolution. As he said:
I just wanted to let you know that Rep. Joel Winters, who is a Democrat, voted "Nay" yesterday, i.e. he wanted to keep the bill alive. I noticed in your post that you said no Democrats voted "nay." However rarely it happens, the Ds deserve a pat on the back when they do something right
…
Well, Rep. Winters is not in my county, but I couldn’t agree more – Thank ‘em when they’re right!

====================================================
I apologize – after having Rep. Dan Itse on Meet The New Press (MTNP radio promo here, MTNP podcast here, his appearance on the Glen Beck show here), we should have kept on this important NH House resolution. It is a national deal as over half the States are starting to wake up to the fact that the Federal Government is running roughshod over them.
Want an example why this is important? What do you say when the Federal Stimulus bill has a clause in it that allows the State Legislatures to override a Governor Veto if that Governor does not wish to accept that stimulus money (as several Republican and Democrat Governors have said publicly due to the strings attached to that money). Go ahead, try and tell me that this is NOT interference by the Feds!
In NH, a bill can be labeled "Inexpedient to Legislate" – a form of a "kiss of death"; it was voted as such in committee. Today’s vote was by the entire House to see if this resolution, defending Jeffersonian principles of separation of State vs State (Feds vs NH, in this case) would be resurrected.
It was not.
215 – 160, the House voted to kill it. A YEA vote meant effectively "Kill it". A NAY vote mean"keep it alive.
Well, here’s how my NH House Representatives voted. I’m not surprised by the Democrats voting for it. Once again, I see the same Republicans continuing to vote with Democrats.
