"Hope" and "change"... peeling away the phony veneer

oh no!Obama

When you consider the facts from a variety of places, the luster that seemingly coats the Magic Obama is quickly wearing off...

  • Jen Rubin, writing at Contentions, notes the mess that is quickly becoming the Obama Administration and its approach to the economy, and the resulting "reporting" we're getting from the so-called "mainstream" media:

it’s no wonder his aides are attacking a radio talk show host and Dowd is ruminating about the first lady’s arms. The rest is too painful to watch.

  • The Union Leader's Drew Cline comments on DEMOCRAT Jim Cramer's buyer's remorse with his presidential choice-- at least when it comes to his "fix" for the economy--and the dust-up between him and the White House:

Cramer endorses Obama’s entire big-government agenda — except for what the President has done on the economy. He says Obama’s actions are wrecking the economy, making the nation poorer and prompting would-be investors to shield their money. (On his show, Cramer has begun a segment in which he highlights “Obama-proof stocks.”)

Cramer was just as critical of Bush economic policies at the end of the administration. This is not partisan. It’s economic. It comes as many Senate Democrats are trying to scale down Obama’s budget proposals because they are so astronomically large. More and more Democrats are seeing that Obama is not acting wisely, and they are becoming increasingly concerned.

Cramer gets it. The President’s first duty right now is to stabilize the economy. But Obama has so far done exactly the opposite by throwing out a hodge-podge of awful and self-evidently destructive policies. Cramer joins the Wall Street Journal, this newspaper’s editorial page and many, many others in noting that every one of Obama’s economic recovery proposals has sent the stock markets down, not up.

Q: How many Obama voters does it take to change a lightbulb?
A: None. Hoping that it would change is quite enough.

Q: How many autoworkers does it take to change a lightbulb?
A: 17 at GM, Ford and Chrysler; 1 at Honda, Hyundai and Toyota.

Q: How many Illinois Dems does it take to change a lightbulb?
A: F— you, what am I gettin’ outta this?

  • William Teach, blogging at RightWingNews, reports that the Magic Obama is getting weary following all the hard work that is hope and change. According to Administration officials, that is the apparent cause of President Sleepyhead's inexplicable "snub" of British PM Brown:

OK, let's see: President Neophyte treated Brown and the British press like snot, and is now making excuses that expose his true executive nature. Perhaps President Neophyte could have called up Brown and cancelled the visit? But, I do like how he and his administration are "bemused" about complaints regarding the shoddy treatment, which includes, if you remember, Brown and his wife giving fantastic gifts to the Obama's, and, in return, the Browns received presents equivalent to a fruit cake. What is Michelle Obama's excuse for being a poor host?

Perhaps it is all the partying the Obama's have been doing on the public dime quarter silver dollar (we have to account for the massive inflation Obama's spending will cause.) They sure do not seem to be too tired for that.

Somehow Obama and his minions in Congress have come to believe that the money we earn doesn't really belong to us. Rather they believe it belongs to them to use as they see fit "for the good of society". But society doesn't agree with him. Those that make the economy work have decided they aren't going to play by his rules and are taking their money and their talents and going on strike. One sure sign of this is the stock market, where Wall Street reacts every time the President lays out details of his plans by pulling money out of the market. They know if they leave it there he'll find some way of taking it away from them.

Indeed. We can run, but can we hide? Methinks it's going to be a long four years...Cry
