MTNP Radio. It’s satisfying. It’s super. It’s Saturday morning.

Starting Saturday morning at 9 am!

Meet the New Press

As usual, this week’s broadcast version of GraniteGrok and AnkleBitingPundits brings an array of items and guests for your consideration– ALL STARTING AT 9AM! As always, thanks to the technical wizardry and analytical skills of Skip, if you are beyond the broadcast area of Newstalk 1490 WEMJ, simply click here for instructions on how to connect and listen on the Internet via livestream. (Podcasts here)

  • Doug and Skip discuss the issues of the day. We’ll spank those who sold yet another chunk of Granite Staters’ liberty for a few million dollars in bribe money requiring mandatory seat belts. With all the economic news– none of it good– how can it be that Laconia’s school board is proposing increased spending of more that $2 million? Some politicians NEVER get it…

  • New NHGOP Chair John H. Sununu joins us for round 2 of a conversation started last week. We’ll discuss what principles the Party stands for, and what we can do with politicians that ignore them. A seatbelt law for NH? What’s next… an income tax? We’ll also get his take on Judd Gregg’s turnabout in the face of phony "bipartisanship" on Pres Obama’s part; and the national Republicans hanging tough on "stimulus." Are things already looking up for Republicans and conservatives for 2010? What does he think of the selection of Michael Steele as head of the National Committee?

  • State Representative Dan Itse is the sponsor of HCR6, a resolution affirming States’ rights based on Jeffersonian principles. It seems that his proposal has started to gain attention well beyond the Granite State’s borders, with other states joining in. Rep. Itse even appeared on the Glenn Beck Show to discuss the plan to tell the Federal government it’s "gone far enough." Will Democrats join his call for the feds to keep their hands off NH? Mr. Itse is the Director of Political Action for the New Hampshire Liberty Alliance (NHLA).

  • Peyton Wolcott is the Texas-based public school activist who founded the national grassroots online check register movement with the names of a small handful of Texas districts; the movement has grown to almost 435 districts in 30 states.  "Start small, start local and start simple" is one of Peyton’s guiding principles.  Her commentaries have been published regularly in local newspapers and nationally in Education News, and interviews with Peyton have appeared in The Dallas Morning News and the Austin American-Statesman, plus regional radio across America.  Her voluntary ethics pledges for school board candidates were featured last month in Human Events and other venues.  Honors include being named to the Sam Adams Alliance Hall of Fame, and receiving the Upton Sinclair Award (also named in 2006 was ABC’s John Stossel).  "My goal is to educate our children better, for less money," says Peyton.  Oh yeah— she has a great website with stories that you just knew were happening someplace…

In addition to talking about the progress we’ve made in Gilford with getting the check register placed online, we’ll talk about the importance of using smart Golden Rule-based PR in dealing with public schools. Peyton will tell us why persuading our vendor-driven local school districts to voluntarily post their check registers online is one of the single most effective and patriotic acts available to citizens. This issue is related to our push to get the Town and School District to publish the salaries and benefit costs of all employees in the Annual Report.

  • And of course, ===============>> Your calls are encouraged at 603 527 1490.

  • It all starts at 9AM EST Saturday. Tune in if you’re in Central NH at NewsTalk 1490AM WEMJ or live on the ‘Net here… This is not your Poppy’s radio show. You won’t need to wedge toothpicks into your eyelids to stay awake here!
