Tough Choices – er, isn’t that why you’re a politician?

As I mentioned here, PolitickerNH is shutting down, so this will probably the last post I get to link to written by Brian Lawson….

Larsen warns of tough budget choices
By Brian Lawson, PolitickerNH.com Reporter

It is easy to be a politician when times are flush and there’s lots of money (or at least, when you pretended you had 17.5% more money than you actually had).  There is a saying – good managers become better managers when constraints are added – on behalf of the poor taxpayer (instead of all of the supposed victims of society that government has to rescue), let’s see if you can rise to the occasion. Or fall flat on our dollars…

Sound snarky?  The problem is right from her own lips

"We know we won’t adequately fund programs we should," the Senate president told reporters after Lynch’s inaugural address. "It’s unlikely we’re going to grow any programs."

It’s always about the money, and it is always about more money.  In their eyes, Liberals believe that only Big Government can rescue people; people are unable to rescue themselves and only thing better than Big Government is ever Bigger Government.  While there are those that do need to be taken care of (the truly disabled and lame, the elderly without compassionate families), most considered to be in that "have to be taken care of class" really are not.

Unfortunately, Democrats have seemingly never learned the lesson that relying simply on money does not solve problems.  Nor should they be trying to solve all problems….

"I hope people work together, and I think that’s what people expect," Larsen said. "People are tired of the bickering."

Well then, there’s hope for her!  Just do it my way, and there’ll be no more bickering….

Remember, the more in taxes you pay, the less freedom you have as you fewer choices, say with $75 in your pocket, than if you had $100.

And the more Government wants to help, the more is will dictate how it will help you…and you have fewer choices (less freedom) again.
