Great - Colin Powell wants to be an Obama Community Organizer

Colin Powell
Man, he must really still be ticked at President Bush and the Republicans.  Colin Powell, distinguished four star General and leader of the Allied forces in the first Iraq war under President Bush 1 and Secretary of State under President Bush 2, came out for Obama late in the election.

Now, he's an Obama organizer.  At a new site:  USA Service

Renew America Together

President-elect Obama believes that we, as Americans, have a responsibility to help our communities and fellow citizens.  In summoning a new spirit of service, he is calling on us to make an enduring commitment to our neighborhoods.  Sign up today and let's renew America together.

And wants your personal info - especially your email address.  Not content to mine emails during the campaign, he's continuing to "organize" the nation.  Why be a Community organizer when you can be a National organizer?

Make no mistake, Obama has taken his campaign to remake America in his special way to a new level.  Moving his campaign site to Change.gov - no problem!  And not content with that, let's use another front organization.  After all, it's only for good, right?  It's only to do good works, right.  After all, public service is not politics, is it?

My name is Paul Schmitz and I am the CEO of Public Allies, a national organization that advances new leadership to strengthen communities, nonprofits and civic participation across the country. Public Allies was one of the original models for AmeriCorps, and Michelle Obama was the founding Executive Director of our Chicago program.

With the great challenges our nation is facing today, each of us needs to step it up. All of us need to commit to what we can do in our homes, our communities, and on the causes we care about to address our biggest challenges. We might start by reducing energy consumption in our homes, mentoring a young person from a nearby school,

Umm, not so much, as look what snuck in:

or advocating to elected officials for health care reform. The point is to start somewhere and take leadership.

That's right - let's use this as another means to politick for change - Liberal way.

We on the Right have to watch this...

Yep-- Just like the Children's Actiion Network (CAN-NH) or the Belknap County Citizen's Council, or Juvenile Justice. Local NH orgs that work tirelessly behind the scenes politically. Oh, and if these groups weren't started by REPUBLICANS, they at least were instrumental in aiding and abetting them.
