Would you hire this person for a service job?

I’m not a big fan of tats; I guess I just don’t "get it" as to the "tribal" collective ("hey, I’ve got one too!") need for them.  I’ll admit – I have this fascination with watching Miami Ink or L.A. Ink, or when body art documentaries are on – I’ll never get one myself but I can appreciate the talent that it takes to create "artistic" tatoos (as opposed to the simple "asian" character ones).

But this?  I think this person has pretty much taken himself out of the running for a "front line" contact position.  He may be the greatest person in the world with the best manner (alright, this IS an arrest mug shot – mostly likely, he’s not).

Tattooed man

So, what’s your opinion?  Am I misguided in believing that he has self selected himself out of the job market?

I’m sure he’ll make a great janitor in a public school somewhere someday… “He was such a good, quiet man. Who knew?”

A well done tattoo is a work of art. People getting one, have to keep in mind that it’s there forever and as we age, our skin will lose elasticity and stretch. “So what?” I hear you asking. Well, that once proud eagle in full flight can wind up looking like an oven stuffer roaster from Perdue, complete with potatos and gravy. :)
I like well done ones, my wife likes mine (a tasteful wolf howling at the moon with clouds) but it on my upper arm. Easily hidden by a shirt. Facial tribal style tattoos only look good on a Samoan (they have special meaning and if you are not Samoan, you really shouldn’t be getting one). A Japanese full body suit is amazing (sometimes they peel the skin off a corpse and then preserve/frame the tatoo like a painting).
Regardless, the tatoos above, combined with the dullard look in the eyes is what disqualifies them, or rather qualifies them as a member of the “guess how stupid I am” club.

Those tattoos are not random patterns, they’re blunt symbolism.

He knows what he meant by them, and they’re there for a reason.

With that Satan’s star on his forehead, and “88″ on the right side of his face you’d give him the benefit of that doubt that he could be a lovely guy…?

Maybe if you’re into Satanist Neo-Nazis…

That guy’s stupidity didn’t start at branding himself, it started at going off the rails with extremist beliefs.

By painting himself up like that he’s actually doing the rest of us all a service by permanently displaying warning signs that he’s bad news.

Hopefully he never gets anywhere *near* any public schools!
