Frankly, I think that the American auto manufacturers should go through bankruptcy court to try to figure out if they should go or stay viable and not be the subject of yet another politician’s largesse with our money. This is especially as the one of the biggest components of why the auto makers are failing, the UAW, is refusing to put their skinny in the game even as their compensation is well twice that of the average American factory worker – not even their golf course.
So, get $14 Billion – what does Chrysler do? Blow $100k of it on a full page color ad in USA today – yup, that’s going to make them more incompetent, isn’t it?
Sigh…what a quick $100K up in smoke. When Cerebus (the private equity firm that owns Chrysler) says that it cannot put any more of its investors money at risk, this ad is nothing more than a poke in the taxpayer eye…
