"Someone is going to have to give up a piece of the pie..."

Our friend Jane just sent me a link to this absolutely wonderful bit of hypocrisy:

According to Michelle Obama,

“The truth is, in order to get things like Universal Health Care and a revamped Education System, then someone is going to have to give up a piece of the pie so that someone else can have more.

Notice the inference that the pie is only just so large....and the stunning lack of dismissal that the pie can ever get larger (note to Michelle - didn't the millions you received from your hubby's books increase your slice of the pie - with no need of arm twisting of others?  That the purchasers of those books were voluntary?).  The willingness to just disregard the actual evidence at the end of your bank statement....

Oh, really? Who is the someone who gives up a piece of the pie?

On October, 15,2008, Michelle Obama spent $447.39 on room service (for 2) at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel for an afternoon snack of Lobster Hors D’Oeuvres ($50.00), Whole Steamed Lobsters (100.00), Iranian Osetra Caviar ($150.00), and Bollinger Champagne ($44.00)

See the Michelle Obama wealth redistribution quote below, and the enlarged receipt for the sumptuous snack, signed by Michelle Obama.

Go look at the receipt and ask yourself if you donated to the Obama campaign:

Did I just help to buy her lobster pie?

Another one for the "Fine for me but not for thee" collection...

The quote is correct. The receipt is fake. Check it on Snopes.
The receipt is not only fake, it's impossible, as Michelle Obama was in Fort Wayne, Indiana giving a speech that day. The NY Post retracted this faked report the following day or so, stating that the person who gave them the information must have been on mind-altering drugs. Sad that you didn't take the time to review and retract it yourself (I can't help but notice it's still on your site....). That's the ultimate problem with Republican thinking -- quick to believe anything that slams the "other guy" instead of touting your own candidate, aka, the Karl Rove approach. The reason McCain lost is because independent voters like me were sick and tired of the constantly repeated slamming of Obama. Frankly, I followed Rush Limbaugh's advice when McCain was nominated: "I will not vote for John McCain!" For that matter, Ann Coulter also stated McCain wouldn't get her vote either. And you're surprised that all the little sheep in their flock listened to that soundbite and it wouldnt stick? Dittoheads, indeed!!!!
Being quick to judge is far from a problem exclusive to Republicans. Democrats are much the same. The ultimate problem with the Republicans is consistency. They did not stay true to their conservatism in the face of an unpopular president.
