Obama – remember my post about his lying about his 2nd Amendment stance?

by Skip

I wrote about Obama and his 180 degree turn on gun rights here.  He says he supports the 2nd Amendment as an individual right at his website, but his actions before he decided to "do politics" showed otherwise (as he directed lots of money to defeating that individual right at the Joyce Foundation).

Well, what did he say in his own words?  Our pal John (and frequent guest on MTNP) at RWN has the money quote:

"I am not in favor of concealed weapons. I think that creates a potential atmosphere where more innocent people could (get shot during) altercations." — Barack Obama

I hardly believe that saying one cannot carry is supporting gun rights.  That’s the same as saying I support the troops but not their mission (even as the troops themselves support their mission).

And when it comes to his socialist leanings?  Well, I know that I never hung out with these kinds of profs when I went to school:

"To avoid being mistaken for a sellout, I chose my friends carefully. The more politically active black students. The foreign students. The Chicanos. The Marxist professors and structural feminists and punk-rock performance poets. We smoked cigarettes and wore leather jackets. At night, in the dorms, we discussed neocolonialism, Franz Fanon, Eurocentrism, and patriarchy. When we ground out our cigarettes in the hallway carpet or set our stereos so loud that the walls began to shake, we were resisting bourgeois society’s stifling conventions. We weren’t indifferent or careless or insecure. We were alienated.          — Barack Obama

At that age, one is that "skull full of mush" as Rush puts it.  Regardless of what your worldview is, you do listen and you do intake whether you agree with something or not.  But when you willfully decide to hang with those that will rail against American society, that will color your view of society in a non-positive way.  Ad to that all of the associations that Obama has kept since that all seem to be tasked with one notion: "we do not like the American way of life and we want to change it to fit our notion, and Obama seems to be a willing vehicle for doing such."

So, when will the American Main Stream Press begin to take Obama at his own word?  Will the American public?

And remember, his wife seemingly has no problem with the philosophy of taking because she knows better:

"The truth is, in order to get things like universal health care and a revamped education system, then someone is going to have to give up a piece of their pie so that someone else can have more." — Michelle Obama

As Karl Marx stated: "From each according to his abilities, to each according to his needs."
