Again, I apologize. I just cannot suppress the disdain I have for this guy as a Republican. Always Did. Always will. Especially now. From the Obama campaign:
Former Massachusetts GOP Governor, William Weld, Endorses Barack Obama for President.
MANCHESTER – The Obama Campaign today announced that Republican William Weld, former Massachusetts governor, endorsed Senator Barack Obama for President. In his endorsement, Weld cited Senator Obama’s steady leadership, good judgment, and ability to unify Democrats, Republicans and independents to bring the change we need to Washington, D.C.
“Senator Obama is a once in a lifetime candidate who will transform our politics and restore America’s standing in the world,” Governor Weld said. “We need a President who will lead based on our common values and Senator Obama demonstrates an ability to unite and inspire. Throughout this campaign I’ve watched his steady leadership through trying times and I’m confident he is the best candidate to move our country forward.”
Weld served as the governor of Massachusetts from 1991 to 1997. Prior to his term as governor, Weld was appointed U.S. Attorney for Massachusetts by President Reagan and later selected to head the Criminal Division of the Justice Department in Washington, D.C.
“We are proud to receive Governor Weld’s endorsement as we grow our grassroots coalition of Democrats, Republicans, and independents to change politics in Washington, D.C.,” New Hampshire Communications Director Sandra Abrevaya said, “Senator Obama has earned the support of Republicans nationwide and here in New Hampshire because he has spent his entire life bringing people together to solve the tough challenges Americans face.”
Yesterday in New Hampshire, the Obama Campaign announced former Republican State Senator Richard Russman, former Republican State Representative Sandy Kearns, and former Republican State Representative William Tsiros joined other Republicans statewide in their endorsement of Barack Obama.

Of course, it's debatable as to whether any of these people ever really were "Republicans" at all. I have long held the same feelings towards this bunch as Weld. (Yep-- being from RI, I know a thing or two about "Linc" Chafee. He sucks too!)
