Since Mr. Heinlein was one of my favorite authors growing up, and his "word" (grok) is part of our name, it is appropriate to have one of his quotes grace our site (especially as we are under siege as a society from those that do not understand what he is saying):

Co-founder of GraniteGrok, my concern is around Individual Liberty and Freedom (and how Government is taking that away from us). My fight, from a Conservative (with small "L" libertarian leanings) and evangelical Christian perspective, is with the Progressives that are forcing a collectivized and secular humanistic future upon us. As TEA Party activist, citizen journalist (and pundit!), my goal is to use the New Media to advance the radical notions of America's Founders back into our culture again.

    I happen to be a Heinlein fan too.

    Sad to say, the man was quite simply wrong. There are plenty of greater tyrranies than taxation. How about — killing an innocent? Slavery? How about simply taxation *without* the person’s good at heart? Aren’t all of these worse?
