Yet another Liberal saying "Do as I say and not as I do"

You're a politician with an Ivy League college background. You have over 700 staffers to back check, fact check, and write your speeches.
That is, if you so desire.
Methinks Obama ought to be desiring that a whole lot more.
Instead of the Obamessiah, we ought to be calling him TGM - The Gaffe Machine:
"Mr. McCain is an honorable man, we respect his service. But when you look at our records and our plans on issues that matter to working women, the choice could not be clearer," Obama told the audience in New Mexico, a voter-swing state. "It starts with equal pay. Sixty-two percent of working women in America earn half or more than of their family's income. But women still earn 77 cents for every dollar earned by men in 2008. You'd think that Washington would be united it its determination to fight for equal pay."
Well, he certainly sets himself up as being the moral leader, claiming the high ground, doesn't he? With that lead in, he insinuates that McCain doesn't believe the in the same thing (by first giving the praise and then making the distinction). Yet, studies have shown that there are explanations for this - time of service, time out for pregnancies, unwillingness to work the long hours that men do, and others. Yes, there are times when there is discrimination - and I say stomp on those that practice it.
Wouldn't it make sense, though, to make sure your own house is in order BEFORE jumping off the figurative cliff?
On average, women working in Obama's Senate office were paid at least $6,000 below the average man working for the Illinois senator. That's according to data calculated from the Report of the Secretary of the Senate, which covered the six-month period ending Sept. 30, 2007. Of the five people in Obama's Senate office who were paid $100,000 or more on an annual basis, only one -- Obama's administrative manager -- was a woman.
The average pay for the 33 men on Obama's staff (who earned more than $23,000, the lowest annual salary paid for non-intern employees) was $59,207. The average pay for the 31 women on Obama's staff who earned more than $23,000 per year was $48,729.91. (The average pay for all 36 male employees on Obama's staff was $55,962; and the average pay for all 31 female employees was $48,729. The report indicated that Obama had only one paid intern during the period, who was a male.)
Doesn't look good, does it? There is that old traditional saying - practice what you preach! Being the agent of change, I'd be changing how I introduce my stances if I were BHO.
Oh, McCain? Well, he's not preaching, but he is practicing:
McCain, an Arizona senator, employed a total of 69 people during the reporting period ending in the fall of 2007, but 23 of them were interns. Of his non-intern employees, 30 were women and 16 were men. After excluding interns, the average pay for the 30 women on McCain's staff was $59,104.51. The 16 non-intern males in McCain's office, by comparison, were paid an average of $56,628.83.
Once again, who is yelling about discrimination - yup, the Dems. Who is actually discriminating? Yup, the Dems.
Another example of when a Dem says one thing but practices another. Once again, the Republican says little but actually does what the Dem is saying....
...and gets no credit for it. From Snopes:
HOUSE # 1:
A 20-room mansion (not including 8 bathrooms) heated by natural gas. Add on a pool (and a pool house) and a separate guest house all heated by gas. In ONE MONTH ALONE this mansion consumes more energy than the average American household in an ENTIRE YEAR. The average bill for electricity and natural gas runs over $2,400.00 per month. In natural gas alone (which last time we checked was a fossil fuel), this property consumes more than 20 times the national average for an American home. This house is not in a northern or Midwestern "snow belt," either. It's in the South.
HOUSE # 2:
Designed by an architecture professor at a leading national university, this house incorporates every "green" feature current home construction can provide. The house contains only 4,000 square feet (4 bedrooms) and is nestled on arid high prairie in the American southwest. A central closet in the house holds geothermal heat pumps drawing ground water through pipes sunk 300 feet into the ground. The water (usually 67 degrees F.) heats the house in winter and cools it in summer. The system uses no fossil fuels such as oil or natural gas, and it consumes 25% of the electricity required for a conventional heating/cooling system. Rainwater from the roof is collected and funneled into a 25,000 gallon underground cistern. Wastewater from showers, sinks and toilets goes into underground purifying tanks and then into the cistern. The collected water then irrigates the land surrounding the house. Flowers and shrubs native to the area blend the property into the surrounding rural landscape.
Yup, AlGore's is first. President Bush's second. And even with all of the retrofits of solar panels and whatnot, AlGore' still uses far more energy in a month than the average American family.
Remember, it's not what they do that's important, it's what they say....
...or that's what they want you to believe!
