No metal detector at the school door needed for this...

Although it is starting to become a handful of decades ago, I do remember being in Jr. High.  I don't remember that guns were ever a factor.  Ditto for knives (although some had pocketknives - boys carried them around to carve their initials into the wooden desks). So, no metal detectors were ever needed (or even thought of).

Drugs - nope.  In fact, talking in the corridors going from class to class was the big deal.  Chewing gum at any time was grounds for the principal's office.  Ditto for talking back to the teacher or causing a ruckus.  Heck, unbuttoning the top button of our shirts was a no-no until the principal announced over the intercom that it was OK due to the heat.

I think that a lack of discipline (pretty much blown up, or at least started, by my Boomer generation is at fault.  My, my, such a change in schools since then.

So why are the Educrats so surprised when parents have such dim views of public schools and the message that they send to their kids:

NEW BRITAIN, Conn. -- An investigation is under way at a New Britain middle school after students said two eighth-graders engaged in a sexual act inside a classroom.

So, they found an empty classroom for a study period, right?  Er, not so much...

The students said that not only did other classmates watch the alleged act, but one recorded it on a cell-phone camera.
A substitute teacher was present at the act, according to students.
Students at Pulaski Middle School told Eyewitness News that an eighth-grade boy and girl engaged in an oral sex act during math class last week.
The students said that several classmates blocked the pair from the view of the substitute teacher, and that one classmate recorded the entire act on a camera phone.

After all, it's all for the children!  Substitute or not, what was this ADULT doing?  Or rather, not?  But it gets worse...

An automated phone message from school administrators went out to parents Wednesday night.
Parent Sonia Rodriguez said she received the message and was shocked.
"Supposedly it's … on the Internet, on YouTube -- that's more concerning," Rodriguez said.

Schocked...not over what happened.  Not at the responsibility of the adult to maintain control of a class of kids.  Not concerned that a pack of kids cannot behave with decorum in a public setting.

Not concerned that their parents didn't teach their children better?

Nope!  Only that it made it to the Internet.  Never a word recorded about the lack of manners and upbringing, or SENSE that have been handed down to the next generation.

She said the message informed her that the sex act may have been recorded, and that school leaders are helping those involved.

Helping, huh?  Like they helped this guy (instead of going after the Muslim making the threats)?

New Britain's superintendent and Board of Education did not return Eyewitness News' calls seeking comment.

This should bear watching....let's see where the word "accountability" plays a role here.
