Notable Quotes - Paul

I certainly agree with this statement, as all around us, we see our politicians and society increasingly trying to protect us from ourselves and from the statement "Decisions and actions have consequences".

If you want freedom, you have to assume personal responsibility for yourself.  If you make bad decisions, it's your own fault.

- Dr. Ron Paul, 2008 Republican Presidential Candidate

No, this is NOT an endorsement of Ron Paul!  That said, I do agree with some of what he says (and just plain shake my head slowly at the rest).  And this is one of those times.

The most annoying thing about Ron Paul, is his supporters. Since I'm not registered to either party, I have the "joy" of getting inundated by both sides every year. Most of the time it's fun picking on the true believers when they knock on the door (I tell Hillary people that I can't vote for her because she's a woman, Obama people no, because he's black, Edwards, well he's just too pretty to be POTUS. Yes, I am only joking when I tell them this, I just like to see their indignation boil over :)) But when I come home from work to 3 or 4 recorded messages from Dr Ron Paul on my answering machine (I thought these recorded messages weren't allowed, that a live person had to be involved?) 4 or 5 days a week, it gets more than just a little annoying. In fact, it would almost drive me to vote for HRC. Almost, but I think I still have a shred of sanity left.
Even broken clocks are right twice a day. Too bad Paul can't have that kind of record.
