Meet The New Press Today at 11 AM -- What a Lineup!

.
Once again, this week's broadcast version of the New Media brings an array of items and guests for your consideration. As always, thanks to the technical wizardry and analytical skills of Skip, if you are beyond the broadcast area of Newstalk 1490 WEMJ, simply click here for instructions on how to connect and listen on the Internet via livestream. (Podcasts here)
.
Here's the lineup:
  • Vern Wuensche is the first presidential candidate to join us in person in studio. Huh? Who's Vern? He's from Texas and he's running for president. He's a self-made man that has made his living as a small businessman for thirty one years. I found out about him when he commented on a post I did about Truman's correct decision to drop the atomic bomb, which he wholeheartedly agreed with. I challenge any real conservative to review Mr. Wuensche's positions on the issues and find something you disagree with. His main issue is the judicial system and its impact on small businesses. There are many people other than those at the top that run for President every cycle that we often never hear about, but they're there. We'll find out what motivates someone to pursue something that is without a doubt, the longest of long shots. Says Vern: "Skill in achieving a result is a practiced art. An American leader must clearly picture the desired result and then each day exercise discipline and determination to be certain he or she is moving toward it."
  • Skip and I will discuss the new toll increase proposal that Gov. Lynch is supporting. Will gas tax increases be next? Are we getting enough bang for our bucks, or are we just getting screwed? Shouldn't privatization of services be something to consider as NH seeks to solve the DOT money "crisis"?
  • Joining us for some in-depth presidential politics talk is Brian "Cosmo" Lawson of the blogs NH Presidential Watch and NH Insider. We'll cover the Repubs and the Dems. Could anybody other than Hillary survive a Norman Hsu fundraising scandal? Is Fred starting to get his groove? Should some of these guys call it quits?
  • Rick Tyler is Newt Gingrich's press secretary and spokesman. He'll fill us in on the final stretch to next week's American Solutions events taking place right here in NH and elsewhere across America. This exciting, innovative happening, based on the vision and ideas of Newt Gingrich, seeks to bring together activists, policy experts, candidates, and elected officials to develop solutions for the challenges we face as a nation. We'll be hosting a Solutions Day workshop right here in Laconia, so we're looking forward to what Mr. Tyler has to "tease" us with as we head into the main event.

  • Kerri Houston of the Alliance for American Manufacturing will talk about another cool event happening in NH this week: the "Keep it Made in America" town hall meeting hosted by John Ratzenberger of the Travel Channel's Made in America (and of course, Cheers fame). The event will focus on New Hampshire’s continued loss of manufacturing and textile jobs.  Voters will be encouraged to ask candidates blunt questions about what they’ll do to help save U.S. manufacturing. Kerri will fill in the details. GraniteGrok plans on attending and liveblogging this event.

There you have it! It all starts at 11AM EST Saturday. Tune in if you're in Central NH at NewsTalk 1490AM WEMJ or live on the 'Net here... WOW!!!
