Islamophobia?
CAIR is an organization that is always popping off that any perceived slight at all to a Muslim is an act of "islamophobia". In essence, "...You don't understand Islam and its tenents. Get to know us better, assent to our demands that you change to better accomodate us for religious tolerance..." and the like.
Well, get a grip. Sometimes, just sometimes, you think people might be treat the religion of Islam the way they do because of Muslims saying things like this:
One of the world’s most respected Deobandi scholars believes that aggressive military jihad should be waged by Muslims “to establish the supremacy of Islam” worldwide."
So, Muslims should believe that jihad is not just the internal struggle within, but actual war against the kuffir (unbelievers). We should just do nothing but ignore statements like this? This is supposed to give us the warm and fuzzies?
Deobandi is one of the fundamentalist sects within Islam that believes that all the world should submit to Islam (sooner than later). Before you think that I'm remarking on OBL's latest missive, take note that Britain is waking up to the fact that imams of this sect have taken control of many of the mosques in the UK and preach a radical agenda.
Riyadh ul Haq, who supports armed jihad and preaches contempt for Jews, Christians and Hindus, is in line to become the spiritual leader of the Deobandi sect in Britain. The ultra-conservative movement, which gave birth to the Taleban in Afghanistan, now runs more than 600 of Britain’s 1,350 mosques, according to a police report seen by The Times.
OK, so the Brits spell things funny (Taliban?). Back to the “to establish the supremacy of Islam” worldwide" thing. Is it so radical as far as Islam is concerned? Back to the first story:
Justice Muhammad Taqi Usmani argues that Muslims should live peacefully in countries such as Britain, where they have the freedom to practise Islam, only until they gain enough power to engage in battle.
His views explode the myth that the creed of offensive, expansionist jihad represents a distortion of traditional Islamic thinking.
Who is this guy?
Mr Usmani, 64, sat for 20 years as a Sharia judge in Pakistan’s Supreme Court.
This is not just some run of the mill - this is a SUPREME COURT justice?
He agreed that it was wrong to suggest that the entire non Muslim world was intent on destroying Islam.
Right...and thank you. Can we take that off the grievance list....please? Will Muslims agree that the reverse should be true?
Yet this is a man who, in his published work, argues the case for Muslims to wage an expansionist war against nonMuslim lands.
Guess not. Another case for "not for thee but fine for me!!!" It certainly seems that non-Muslims may well have a right for being nervous. CAIR can complain all it wants that a cross eyed look constitutes an act of Islamophobia...but when will they tell other Muslims to leave the rest of us alone?
Something tells me I already know that answer...Until then, I think the above is a bit more evidence that non-Muslims may well have a reason to be wary. Do you think other Muslims will get the picture why?
