Is Anything Off Limits?

I doubt that it's just Catholics who are outraged by this story!

Those of you who still think the civil union/gay marriage agenda is not a slippery slope issue may need to re-think what's going on in our culture!

Is America better today or was it better before when public schools still taught Godly principals and the Ten Commandments were the foundation of school and life?

I didn't go to school worrying about being shot that's for sure.

Worse yet is this piece and the completely inappropriate teaching to attempt to indoctrinate vulnerable second graders. Come on, people, when are you going to wake up and take back even your own children and what they're being exposed to in public school?

I didn't learn godly principles in public school - I appropriately learned them in my religious school. BTW, the Ten Commandments say nothing about being gay. As for 'indoctrination' - I think it is appropriate that children learn about alternative lifestyles - they're seeing them anyway in their neighborhoods and families. You think they will go away if you ignore them? Your posting is just as telling for what you don't say. These second graders will not become queer because they read a book like this. They will be more accepting (unlike you) of different lifestyles - not just those gay and lesbian.
You can't have it both ways, Putney. If you can't have Godly principles in public school, then public schools should not be allowed to teach little children what amount to anti-God principles for people who are opposed to civil unions/gay marriage because of religious reasons. The Bible says alot about being gay. I agree that children should be taught about alternative lifestyles but it should be taught them by their parents, when the parents determine they're ready, not the public schools that are paid for with our tax dollars. And since many Christian, and other, parents would not teach that it's an okay alternative lifestyle but immoral and sinful, it's completely inappropriate for the public schools to be teaching on this issue and telling children that it's okay. While I'm as accepting as the next guy of diversity, I do not believe in CUs or gay marriage for religious reasons if nothing else. If I were ignoring the issue, I would not have blogged on it so many times. On the contrary, I want more open discussion especially to dispel the myth that gay's are born that way since there is absolutely no scientific consensus to support it. Conservative opinions have been quelched for far too long and left-wing liberals have dominated the sciences and made it a political cause and tried to silence opposing viewpoints and research. I'm interested in letting the truth be known. Thanks again for commenting.
The bible also discusses stoning adulterers and keeping milk and meat separate, among many other teachings. You treat the bible as an absolute, but we all selectively interpret the bible as we see fit. It is NOT the role of public school to teach godly principles - whose God are we to choose? Let's also not forget the separation of church and state in the Bill of Rights. Your religion is allowed to believe and teach that CU's and gay marriage are wrong - but don't force your religion on me or the government. Everyone is entitled to their opinions, but not their own facts. Whose facts are you using? The discredited Paul Cameron's? - Discredited by everyone but NARTH - that is not the truth or anything closely resembling knowledge.
Confusing historical Old Testament statements with the New Testament will always lead to misinterpretation. As well as "selectively interpreting the Bible as we see fit" and taking scripture out of context also leads to misinterpretation. The Bible also says not to commit adultery. You're confusing the "law" of the Old Testament and when Christ came, He came to abolish the law. There is only one God. It's not up to the public schools to teach ungodly principals either. Did you know that the Bill of Rights was really originally to protect the Church from the State rather than the State from the Church? I don't know who Paul Cameron is so I can't respond without doing some research on him. Although I did notice that you didn't respond to your "proof" when I mentioned that your "proof" was based on research done in 1957. I'm not forcing anything on anyone, but I also don't like the government forcing things on me either that go against my principals. 2/3 of the public who testified in NH were against cu's and the governor and legislators simply ignored them and passed cu legislation quickly and under a veil of secrecy and disception. Part of the propaganda used was that "gays are born that way" so it's a "civil rights" issue lie. The Human Rights Campaign (out of state) a misnomer for homosexual rights pumped $150,000 into NH candidates to get dems elected bc they felt they could get cu's passed...and it worked and dems were obligated to the homosexual donor because they were "bought." Godly "knowledge" trumps human "knowledge" everytime.
Check the election website from the NH Secretary of State's office. The claim that HRC gave $150,000 to the NHSDC is clearly fraudulent. Hooker was only the start, the pioneer. Please keep Christ out of this argument - Christians are not the only people who live in this state and - some don't believe in the New Testament and some don't believe in both Testaments. The number of people who come to testify in favor or against a bill is hardly a measure of public opinion.
Just because you don't like Christ in a discussion or argument, doesn't mean I have to leave Him out of it. I have free speech too! Duh, I know there's non-Christians who live everywhere so what? And, no, it isn't fraudulent that HRC gave money to democrats, ask Ray Buckley since you don't believe me...money went directly to candidates and the HRC provided staff people as well, so just because it doesn't show up at the Sec. of State's office means nothing. Again, ask Ray how he was involved in the deception and how voters were robbed of their right to vote on such an important issue And how all of this was done in a sneaky, secret fashion. Unfortunately, since cu legislation was rushed through and not one democratic campaigned on the issue, the entire state of NH's voters were never given an opportunity to exercise their voting rights which is one of the manipulative problems of this action by politicians who think they know what voters want but don't bother to let them vote to really find out what they want. Money bought votes and the people were excluded from the democratic process. It would upset me and has on issues other than cu legislation as well. It's not democracy in action and I'll never agree to being robbed of my right to vote on any important radically altering legislation...nor do I appreciate being manipulated by politicians.
Putney; here's some proof regarding HRC in many of their own words: http://www.granitegrok.com/blog-mt/mt-tb.cgi/1356 Apparently you missed my post of 8/28 the first time around so you don't even have to ask Ray.
I know what Buckley and the HRC said. $150,000 is three times what they actually gave. It is not the truth. Don't take everything at face value. Do your own research...
As Marcus Hurn wrote in Concord Monitor from 5/2/07 (Doug or Skip commented on the article when it was published): "...Over 20 years ago we decided to put our faith in democratic methods, and they have served us well. Our openly avowed goal has always been full legal equality, but we have worked for it in stages as public understanding has increased. We respectfully argue our case to our elected representatives, and we support candidates who vote for equal justice." And no one, except the Governor, campaigned on raising gas taxes or tolls, but it has been discussed for years. That doesn't make a vote on this issue any less valid.
So what you're saying is that Buckley and the HRC are liars? Comparing raising gas taxes or tolls to cu's is like comparing raising property taxes to child pornography. Cu's are changing thousands of years of recorded history and challenging marriage as being only between a man and a woman...the faith is not in the democratic process but in secrecy, deception, lying and manipulation to gain public understanding. Sorry, but the end does not justify the means.
Let's say they are misprepresenting the truth, if that keeps you happy. I checked the websites - so can you if you don't believe me. I did not find $150,000 in donations - I found considerably less than that. It's easier for your side to accept the higher numbers than do the actual research.
Buckley and the HRC are the ones who themselves said they pumped $150,000 into NH so that's what I'm going by. Perhaps some of the $150,000 would show up on an individuals campaign donation record and not the NHSDC but I don't have time at the moment to go check every dems campaign donation list but hopefully later this week. Well, there's a vast difference between "misrepresenting the truth" and 99% of the truth is still a lie. It's either truth or a lie. Withholding information with the purpose of deceiving people is deceptive. The HRC by their own name attempts to deceive people instead of just calling themselves what they represent: Homosexual Rights Campaign. I hardly doubt that they're campaigning for my rights as a straight married female who makes less money than a man for doing the same job even though I have my human rights and deserve equal pay for equal work. It's not about any other human obtaining their rights, it's only about homosexuals obtaining their rights. Just call it what it is.
Never let the facts get in the way of the truth Judy. You probably believe that politicians never lie.
How can you tell when a politician is lying? When they open their mouth. I think Will Rogers said it. Of course, I know most politicians lie otherwise they'd be social workers or something, ha!
