Motor City Madman for Governor?

Ted Nugent
.
When I looked above the canyon wall,
some strong eyes did I see.
I think its somebody comin' around
to save my ass,baby.
I think...I think he's comin' around
to save you and me.
.
Can it really be true? Is Ted Nugent coming to save our a$$es? Perhaps if you live in Michigan. According to a story in yesterday's Newsmax.com, he might consider a run for governor in the "Wolverine State":
For all of his wild-man antics, the politically conservative Nugent is talking about following in the footsteps of celebrities such as actor Arnold Schwarzenegger or wrestler Jesse Ventura, who won gubernatorial races.
.
"That would be beautiful," Nugent said when asked if he would run for governor of Michigan in 2010. "I have threatened to do so and I was sincere."
In addition to being one of our favorite musicians, the Nuge is our go-to guy for guns and other related topics like border control. We would look forward to a Nugent for Governor campaign with great anticipation. As he famously said in the Double Live Gonzo album,
You didn't come here to be mellow tonight, now did you?
.
Anybody wants to get mellow, you can turn right around and get the [BLEEP] outta here!
I can't wait! Maybe we can talk Ted into moving here to NH,instead. A Lynch/ Nugent race? Oh yeah!
.
Ted Nugent
Ted Nugent for Governor?
You bet!
.
This isn't the first time this has been reported to be on Ted's mind. See here and here, too.
.

I was so amused when Jesse Ventura won. But then he went and was a fairly typical middle of the road type. Which was odd considering how much people were expecting. I saw a bit of Ted's "reality" show. Nice to see he's not slowing down. Maybe he'll throw a scare into the professional politicians. Now that would be worth giving Ted a donation to do.
Jesse was a big disappointment after the hoopla died down, which was too bad. He seemed like such a down to earth guy. While Ted is great at sound bites, one has to wonder how he would do at managing a state. But then again, could he do any worse than the clowns we get now? At least he understands some of the root causes of problems. He'd get my enthusiastic vote if I were a "Michiganiac"! (Ted's word on his latest live album) I can't immagine he'll really do it, though. He likes his life as it is too much to have to conform as a governor. What I really want is for him to come back here to Gilford NH and play at Meadowbrook Farm again. That's what I long for. How about it, Ted?
Wango Tango, baby!! I love Nuge. I saw him live at the Glens Falls Arena in NY about 1981. It was to this day, one of the most memorable nights I can remember. He was awesome. The "Great White Buffalo" was like 15 minutes long. Incredible. A story of him back in the late sixties: He was at a party and hanging out with Hendrix. Jimmie tried to pass him a joint and he said no thanks. He then pulled out this huge hunting knife to show Hendrix. Jimmie said "Why do you need that, man?" The Nuge said: "All a man really ever needs is a sharp knife and a clean hankie." Now that man knows how to get noticed at a party!
