Update:
Well, Kathy Sullivan visited the ‘Grok and left a comment:
When you register a domain name, you can pay an extra ten bucks to have a service act as the registered address for the domain so that your personal information doesn’t appear on the internet when people like you go looking. I paid the extra ten bucks when I registered the name so my home address wouldn’t pop up when people like you looked up who the owner was; I’ve had enough crazy mail at home. Don’t think I am a regular reader – someone forwarded this to me, and I thought, for the sake of whatever few readers you have, that I should correct your vast left wing conspiracy theory.
Here’s my response:
Good morning,
>> I paid the extra ten bucks when I registered the name so my home address
>> wouldn’t pop up when people like you looked up who the owner was;
>>I’ve had enough crazy mail at home.
I can understand this – it is the price of being on the ‘Net (and yes, I’ve had my share nuts too).
What I am planning on doing is an update later on today on the post and put this comment up…your point is valid.
However, I’ll ask this – would you be willing to come onto our radio show, Meet The New Press, this Saturday (11-1) to discuss? We may be part of the loyal opposition (given Nov. elections) and therefore, are partisan (as you are to your side), but we do try hard to be a "no sandbag zone" – we are not Hannity & Colmes type of screamers. We could do this either in studio here in Gilford or we can call you for a phone hookup.
ANd if you’d like to hear how we operate, go to GraniteGrok and listen to the podcasts (click on the iPod). You may wish to listen to the week when we had Ron Tunning, Laconia Dem Chair, on….

Well, to no one’s surprise, there was no answer. Frankly, she has the chance to defend her choice of Jeanne Shaheen to the our audience. My question is, if it is THAT good of an idea, why turn down a chance to shout it from any rooftop?
Think of it – are we three regular schlubs all that intimidating to the Dems that they can’t stand to put up their arguments in the public arena of radio and webcasting?
=============
You bet that the NH Dems are shooting for Senator Sununu’s seat (or might that be a "Lynch"-ing"?).
Actually, several names are being floated around – Steve Marchand, Katrina Swett, and a bunch of others have all expressed interest. The elephant in the Dem room, however, would be Jeanne Shaheen – will she or won’t she?
Premise: The Dems, especially the DC and party elites, may be thinking that Swett and Marchand may not fare as well against Sununu as the pundits and more rabid faithful believe. Therefore, a "casual" attempt to bring Shaheen to the fore.
Who else to start the process? Of course, the former Dem Chair, Kathy Sullivan. Known primarily for her aggressive style, she went soft at the recently completed NH Dem Party convention (Union Leader):
"Sullivan said her efforts drew interest last Saturday, when she mentioned the idea to some collegues at the state Democratic Party convention."
"By the end of the convention, people were approaching Sullivan and asking how to sign on, she said."
She described the draft Shaheen effort as a "grassroots, organically grown movement."
Really? I think not. Being a techie, I decided to look around….guess what I found?
To find out if a domain name is available, you can do a WHOIS on the ‘Net. While trying different phrases, I found this out on WHOIS.NET:
Domain Name: DRAFTSHAHEEN.COM Registrar: MELBOURNE IT, LTD. D/B/A INTERNET NAMES WORLDWIDE Whois Server: whois.melbourneit.com Referral URL: http://www.melbourneit.com Name Server: YNS1.YAHOO.COM Name Server: YNS2.YAHOO.COM Status: clientTransferProhibited Updated Date: 01-jun-2007 Creation Date: 01-jun-2007 Expiration Date: 01-jun-2008
Guess who registered it?
Domain Name.......... draftshaheen.com Creation Date........ 2007-06-01 Registration Date.... 2007-06-01 Expiry Date.......... 2008-06-01 Organisation Name.... KATHLEEN SULLIVAN Organisation Address. Spontaneous "grassroots, organically grown movement." ?
The registrant matches - but does she really live in NH, or now in CA?
