Ed does a great job of nailing the inconsistencies of our new Congress-lady, Carol Shea-Porter, and fisking her ill construed logic in a recent speech (thanks Ed!). Many of us with a conservative bent predicted that this would be happening for all to see, and she has proved us right. And we will be blessed with her presence for two more years……oh joy…
Anyways, our friend Pat of AnkleBitingPundits and fellow co-host of Meet The New Press has a post on her (and linking back to Doug’s Ed’s post here (sorry! right post, wrong author – how bad of me!) and her staff’s latest antics – trashing the people who she is supposed to represent.
You know, the Liberals are all about tolerance, right? They all believe we should be listening and understanding each other, right? That we should just all get along, right? That life should be one huge "we’re all brothers and sisters", right?
Sure – brothers and sisters – fractured family time!
It seems that this will be a stellar example of "do as I think you should do and not what I will be doing". I can tell that this is not going to be a quiet term on her part – and not necessarily just from her side. Getting people all worked up, not over stances, but how those differences are expressed is going to keep her in hot water.
But gee, Skip, isn’t that the fault of those that disagree with her? No, not really. I’m getting a taste of it here as a local Budget Committee member – it seems that if one is conservative and disagrees with a Liberal outlook on things (e.g., we have to spend it for the quality of life, for the children, for <fill in the blank>), you are the one that is the mean-spirited, the one that refuses to go along, or that is the divisive one.
Therefore, we at Meet The New Press are going to try to get the staff / individuals / witnesses / combatants on the show for next week….we’ll keep you informed as to who is willing to come on!
Full Disclosure: The Pease Greeters, I believe, are modeled after the Maine Troop Greeters . This latter link is a post that I did when my Marine son returned from Iraq and landed at Bangor, ME.
I guess you can tell which side of the fence I will be on……
