Duncan Hunter doesn't fool around.

In my recent analysis of the GOP presidential nominee wannabees, I wrote this of Duncan Hunter:
As I noted in this previous post, Hunter probably most accurately reflects where I stand on many issues, especially "peace through strength." An enemy that fears consequences won't mess with us. His campaign structure, unfortunately, seems weak. He was here in the state Monday, and I didn't get a single "heads-up" via any of the New Media that I traverse. I have acquaintances close to his campaign that never thought to drop an email to promote the event. For a guy that acknowledges a lack of name recognition, this isn't good. It's a new political era out there, guys. Woe to the candidate that doesn't engage in the latest field of battle...
Apparently, somebody got the message. Duncan Hunter has hired a consultant to "build up his web presence." Not just ANY consultant, mind you. No, Mr. Hunter's gone right to the top: He's hired John Hawkins of RightWingNews.com to be the "point person in building up buzz for Duncan Hunter online." John has been a guest on the GraniteGrok/AnkleBitingPundits radio venture, Meet the New Press (listen to podcast here) and is considered by many to be one of the premier bloggers from the right side of the Blogosphere. This is an excellent move by Congressman Hunter which can only help his longshot bid for the  nomination. Click  here to read the full story and read the rules of engagement that John has agreed to.
.
This is yet one more example of the power and impact the "New Media" is having upon politics at every level.

» Big Announcement: I Am Now Consulting For The Duncan Hunter Campaign from Right Wing News
A little more than a week ago, I mentioned that I had gotten a gig helping one of the presidential contenders build up his web presence, but that I couldn't mention who it was at the time. When they gave... [Read More]

Congratulations also, to Congressman Hunter, for getting Nathan Tabor's support. I wish more presidential candidates would focus on world wide web visibility. Not only would it help them, but it would raise the status of political cyberspace - and particularly the Blogosphere, as well.
