Dude, you should have made this multiple guess! At 10:30 am, you are making my head hurt! I have no idea about New Hampshire (is there still a Republican Party left up there now?), but at the National level, I will say Bush+McCain+Rudy+Romney= some kind of composite national leader.

Answer #1: No one right now but I'm recruiting Donald Duck: he couldn't do any worse than Semprini et al and, at the very least, we'll recognize Donald when we see him and enjoy his antics. Answer #2: nationally, everyone seems to have gone into hiding so it's hard to tell. Nevertheless, all I hear is that "the big names" are jockeying for leadership positions in the minority party in the Senate and House.

Sigh, There isn't one, not even a figurehead at either level. And that's part of the problem, and actually, part of the solution. The problem is that the Republicans deceived themselves that while things might get tight in the races, they didn't realize that they lost a long time ago by ignoring foundational principles. Without a "leader" willing to keep the politician-masses accountable against those principles, they stood for nothing cohesive. And the voters called them on it, for they saw no difference between them and the challengers. NO amount of present talk would wipe out the recent past walk(s). The solution part is that at the grass roots level, instead of waiting for a leader to emerge, we should actively be canvassing and researching for those that have the conservative principles that can be articulated and stood by. While the realist in me says "win", the principled part of me says that, better still, win via expressed principles - much more satisfying than poll driven victories.

Ya know, Jorge, you picked Donald Duck as the answer to # 1, and my friend Chris from the Cape says "Mickey Moose"- Could this be the answer? A coalition of sorts? "Superfriends?" Underdawg? Batman? Super Dave Osbourne?

#1 -- It would have to be either Bruce Keough, Judd Gregg or John Sununu. I prefer Bruce and John. #2 -- Still George Bush, unfortunately, but Romney, McCain, Giuliani and Brownback are in ascension mode. Otherwise I would have said George Allen, but I think he can't recover.
