» High Stakes Obfuscation from GilfordGrok
Our School District Superintendent, Dr. DeMinico, has written yet another missive trying to downplay the use of standardized testing in school systems. It can be seen here at the Laconia Citizen (registration required), Laconia Daily Sun (not online),... [Read More]

It is not just at the school level - the waste goes on and on right up the food chain. Here is a chuckle from somebody that happened to be staying at the same location where the NH Principals Association holds their annual convention: We stay at a unit at the Eagle Mountain House, in Jackson , NH. As I was leaving today the NH Principals Assoc was arriving. They book XX rooms and have seminars and a small trade show where vendors show them things they can use in the schools. The 3 day agenda was posted in the lobby. Each day there was ONE two hour seminar, one day a three hour seminar. The rest of the day was spent at BBQ"s, receptions, luncheons, and dinners. Talk about not over working!!! And, our General Manager tells me that this is one of the few events of the year where they have to have a security guard due to the drinking. I hope our tax dollars aren't paying for this. These are the people who run our schools. Scary!!
