Republican extremists: Martin Luthur King, Jr. and Barry Goldwater

Democrats today love name-calling about Republican “extremism.” I’t not getting much traction, but it does have a distinguished history. So…with a hat tip to a recent column by George Will, here’s what Dr. Martin Luthur King, Jr. had to say about “extremism.” In his “Letter from Birmingham Jail,” he wrote as follows:

“It wasn’t THAT bad!”-where Democrat TJ Jean tries to justify Rochester’s costs for Obama’s campaign visit

Heh!  While most of the public input at last night’s Rochester City Council was concerning folks warning the City Council not to sign on, Democrat Mayor TJ Jean spent the first part of the meeting trying to justify the City’s expenses (as in “Wait!  It really wasn’t THAT bad”) when Obama came to town not …

Any effort to expand education outside that narrow corridor of Democrat political influence will be blocked.  Any existing programs that support education without …

The Question For Our Time

In the historic Presidential tradition of leaving phrases imbued into the mind of the citizenry to echo for generations, one of the phrases for this era is crystallizing.  Remember Kennedy’s,  “Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country”, or Reagan’s,  “Mr. Gorbachev, Tear down this wall”, …

It’s Time For A Smell Test (Update and Bumped – Democrats spent 1.5 million to elect Akin)

A Republican Candidate for the US Senate in Missouri said something stupid the other day. “It seems to me, first of all, from what I understand from doctors, that’s really rare. If it’s a legitimate rape the female body has ways to try to shut that whole thing down,” he said. Akin said later, in …

Return to the 2008 Obama Campaign Strategy (Updated and Bumped-Link Added)

(Link Added- Controlling the Message: None of that random messaging that might embarrass us.) In 2008 the Obama Campaign hid or at least disguised his lack of experience or skill by controlling the message.  He did lofty speeches, and some softball interviews in the safest of places and conditions, but anything about policy–what there was …
